The MISSION ATLANTIC team is delighted to announce the launch of a new online metadata catalogue. The catalogue stores information about Atlantic Ocean data sources, relevant to MISSION ATLANTIC that can be used by stakeholders to gain access to data. The philosophy of this catalogue is to “collect once, reuse many times”.

The metadata catalogue provides a customized discovery service for users. It facilitates access to existing services, allowing users to view and download data and find information about available data resources. Its contents includes data products, models, classifications, tools and programs, as well as information on other relevant projects, and covers a wide range of marine disciplines from biological, chemical and physical oceanography to human activity and environmental impact.

This wide compilation of data represents the data needs for MISSION ATLANTIC’s work performing IEAs and precise and accurate ecosystem analysis (WP1), as well as mapping of pelagic and benthic pressures (WP3-4), modelling for prediction (WP6), and descriptive statistics on the raw data.

The catalogue is hosted by Sextant and is based on EMODnet Standards, and can be accessed here.
