The digital transition will impact blue professions, education and citizens’ perceptions and decisions regarding ocean health and coastal resilience. Digital education will have to start in the early school years and continue during all active life. On the other hand, digital tools present a huge opportunity to create inspiring tools for education and public engagement like virtual or augmented reality, remote sessions at aquaria or oceanic cruises and citizen science. The creation of a Digital Twin for the ocean and the availability of open data will also foster the creation of exhibitions and resources to support citizens’ decisions regarding ocean health and coastal resilience.
This workshop is jointly organised by Pillar II and Pillar IV of the Atlantic Strategy.
